Ok so by mentioning the fact that Sage has been a great baby so far has caused him to be especially fussy last night and this morning. He had gas and also sneaked in an extra feeding this morning. I had served green beans last night with supper, and my health nurse advised me that very well could have been the cause of his gas. I had suspected the garlic, since I'd eaten a lot of it with dinner (ceasar salad, green beans with garlic butter, potatos with onions and garlic butter) but she said that garlic actually has been reported to make breast milk taste yummier, but no mention of garlic causing gassy babies.
Incidentally, I didn't call the health nurse over one morning's fussiness, she called me to arrange this week's meeting, and I asked her if she thought garlic would have caused his gas SINCE SHE WAS ALREADY ON THE PHONE. Actually the meeting we're having this week will be cool because I'm going to call her just before Sage's afternoon meal, and then she'll weigh him prior to breastfeeding, and then afterward as well, so we can see how much milk he's getting. I think that'll be really neat. She's also going to show me a bottle-feeding method which will ensure that he's not getting too much formula.
Thunderstorm cutting this short. I'm afraid I'll lose my stuff in a power outtage. Ta ta for now!
